Terms of Service
Effective September 3, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Julu Growth Ltd (company number 17183876), the operator of Galley at galleykdp.com. By creating an account or using Galley, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What Galley is
Galley is a software service for nonfiction book publishers. It includes a niche verdict engine that estimates demand and competition for book ideas using third-party marketplace data, a writing engine that drafts and polishes manuscripts with artificial intelligence, Voice Studio, which shapes the writing voice of a manuscript, and publishing tools that prepare files for upload to publishing platforms. Galley is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.com, Inc. or Kindle Direct Publishing. Amazon, Kindle, and KDP are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates, used here only to describe where our customers publish.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use Galley. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at info@galleykdp.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You agree to give us accurate account information and to keep it current.
3. Plans, billing, and renewals
Galley offers a free tier and paid subscriptions, currently Scout, Author, and Publisher, billed monthly or annually, plus one-time extra book runs on eligible plans. Current prices and what each plan includes are shown on the pricing page and apply at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. We may change prices for future periods; we will tell you in advance, and the new price applies only after your current period ends.
Book runs on paid plans are a monthly allowance measured in calendar months in Coordinated Universal Time. Unused runs do not carry over. Extra book runs are one-time purchases added to your account and are consumed as you use them.
4. Refunds
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the period already started; cancel any time and keep access through period end. Annual subscriptions may be refunded in full if you request it at info@galleykdp.com within 14 days of your first annual purchase and no book run has started on your account in that period; after that, annual subscriptions are non-refundable. Extra book runs are non-refundable once purchased. Nothing in this section limits refund rights that consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be waived.
5. Your content and your books
You keep ownership of everything you bring to Galley and everything Galley generates for you: your topics, outlines, writing samples, approved transcripts, voice profiles, manuscripts, and exported files. We claim no ownership of your content or your books. You give us only the permission we need to operate the service for you: to store, process, display, and generate from your content, and to send it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy for that purpose alone.
Voice profiles and writing samples belong to the account that created them. We never use one customer's samples or profiles to generate content for another customer.
6. Artificial intelligence and your responsibility
Galley generates text with artificial intelligence models provided by third parties and transcribes audio with third-party speech models. AI-generated text can contain mistakes, outdated information, or statements that need checking. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, fact-checking, and approving everything you publish, for making sure your book does not infringe anyone's rights, and for following the rules of any platform you publish on, including any requirement to disclose AI-generated content. Galley's tools support that disclosure but you are the publisher of record.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Galley to create or distribute content that is illegal, that infringes copyright or other rights, that is defamatory, that presents another real person's identity or authorship as your own, or that is intended to deceive readers. You agree not to use the service to imitate a specific living author's identity; Galley's voices are tuned to categories, not copied from people, and the service is built to keep it that way. You agree not to probe, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service, and not to share one account among multiple people beyond what your plan allows.
8. Third-party data and services
The niche verdict engine relies on marketplace data from third-party providers. That data can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and rankings and sales figures change constantly. Verdicts, demand estimates, and any figures shown are estimates for your consideration, not facts about future sales. Galley also depends on hosting, payment, analytics, and AI providers; if one of them is unavailable, parts of Galley may be unavailable too.
9. No income claims and no guarantees
Galley does not promise that any book will sell, rank, earn royalties, or produce any income. We make no representation about earnings of any kind. Publishing outcomes depend on your topic, your writing, your cover and marketing, market conditions, platform policies, and many things outside our control. Any example, sample, or illustration in the product or on our site is not a promise of results.
10. Service changes and availability
We improve Galley continuously and may add, change, or remove features, including in ways that affect plans. We try to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend or end access to accounts that violate these terms, and we may end the service itself with reasonable notice, in which case you can export your work before the end date.
11. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
Galley is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, Julu Growth Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost sales, or lost data, arising from your use of Galley, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits; where they do not, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold Julu Growth Ltd harmless from claims arising from content you publish, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without limiting any protection that consumer law gives you in your place of residence.
